Terra Trucking Company was founded in 1971. Like many dump truck companies today, Terra was, in the beginning, Fred ReCupido Jr. owning and driving I truck.

Terra Trucking Co. has worked, and provided dump truck service over the years in many geographical regions in the Southwest. In the beginning, it was based in Huntingdon Beach, Ca. Following growth potential, we moved to Escondido, Ca. in 1977. Operating from our Escondido base, Terra focused on the heavy highway segment of the industry, helping to build work along almost every interstate corridor in the Southwest Desert regions. We also had the opportunity to do the unusual type of work you get when you have a specialty for working in remote places, in sometimes harsh or unfriendly conditions.

As Terra's equipment fleet grew, so did its reputation for doing the difficult jobs in out of the way places. As time passed, Terra concentrated on the bottom dump portion of its business, foregoing the brokerage service for other types of dump truck equipment. Our motto became "focus on doing one thing, and do it right. " In the late `80's and early `90's, we did just that. Working for some of the largest high production paving companies of that time, we became tuned into the production asphalt paving business. Today, Terra is one of the largest asphalt bottom dump carriers, by tonnage hauled, in the Southern California region. And as can be measured by the comments of many paving companies we service, we're also the best. Although we do haul road base, dirt, concrete aggregates to many projects in the region, both private and public, the heavy highway, road and street rehabilitation is our primary focus and expertise.

In 1998, with a larger portion of our work coming from the Coachella and Imperial Valleys, Terra moved to its current facility in Banning, California. This move was prompted by the desire to be closer to an area we felt had tremendous growth potential and also to better service our clients. Before and since our move, we have also had an opportunity to help build some of the most famous resorts, country clubs, and developments in the area. In 2000, we opened a yard in El Centro, California, making a commitment to help build this new growth area in So. Cal. Terra is now a Company of 33 sets of bottom dump trailers, 12 pulled by Company owned power, and the balance by owner operators. We have an additional 17 complete unit operators we use on a daily basis. Daily dispatch for our Company is routinely 65-75 trucks per day. We have 2 full time roving field foremen, which directly manage and oversee our field operations. Along with Fred, these foremen add a dimension of control, organization, consultation and assistance to our customers, to facilitate their production schedules, and job organization needs. In comparison to other for hire dump truck carriers, we feel our approach is quite unique in the dump truck industry, much to the satisfaction of our customer base.

In visiting our Web site, we hope you will enjoy some of our historical photos of projects past. Also we have included a listing of current and recently concluded projects.
